New ghost Photo from Sydney - hits media 21-1-10

A new ghost photo was reported in the daily telegraph Sydney, Click here for more.

Media Release 20th January 2010

Mystery photo puzzle solved thanks to Facebook - as seen on Today Tonight this evening.

The mystery photo puzzle has been solved with the help of Facebook users. Today Tonight and others have been searching for the girl in the photo since we put out the call to find her on Friday 8th January 2010.

We, together with T.T. were inundated with phone calls and emails by people claiming to be or know the girl. T.T. was then contacted by Facebook users to say they recognised the girl, which eventually led to finding her. And now it is confirmed by Media outlets that it is Megan Ann Walker, Adam’s partner’s sister a Facebook user.

Nevertheless, the events of the evening still remain a mystery. Such as, during the tour some people felt a presence, the temperature gauge reading was 22 degrees celsius on a 5 degree night and Adam’s camera mysteriously failed whilst in the barn.

Thank you to all the people that have sent in pictures and information on many other look-alikes.

If you have a picture of a “Ghost” or “think you have” we will be pleased to investigate it further for you.

Media Release 19th January 2010

Latest news on “Ghost Girl” Photo.

Recently, Australian Ghost Adventures has been inundated with e-mails and alleged likenesses to our Mysterious “Ghost Girl “photo.

Well finally we may have solved the mystery.

A number of look-alike photos have been sent to us including an image of a young Elizabeth Austin who lived in the Mansion. But our best match is of a local Geelong Girl who via face book looks like the mystery photo (pic not available).

Adam (the Photographer) contacted us today to say that he was contacted by a girl on facebook and she said it was her.

Below are two of the pictures sent to us with similarities?  And there were many others.

Like the Two hour time difference between the Ghostly photo and the others taken with it. It also doesn’t explain how the photo was placed in order with the others if there’s a two hour time difference, as well has having no background at all.

It is possible that a previous image remained on the SD card from a past picture but some experts tell us that it is possible others say its not.

We thank the people who are helping us with this mystery including Today Tonight for bringing this out. As it also made news in Germany on a tabloid newspaper.

With all that said, we have put together 3 photos. One of the “Ghost Girl” and one of a young Elizabeth Austin (née Phillips) and one of a simular looking girl sent to us.

Media Release 8th January 2010.

MEDIA Release Photo of Ghost at Mansion

During a Public Ghost Tour of Victoria's, Barwon Park Mansion Winchelsea (near Geelong), a possible photo of a ghost was revealed!

Is this a photo of a Ghost?

(enhanced photo, original was very dark)

On the night of Saturday the 8th August 2009 a ghost tour group from Australian Ghost Adventures were exploring Barwon Park Mansion, Winchelsea Victoria.

At 11.20pm the group were in the Mansion's stables upstairs loft when a patron sensed a presence in the corner of the Bluestone building. Another patron used a digital thermometer to measure the temperature in the area the other person sensed something and got a reading of 22 ’C with the cold winter night readings at 5’C everywhere else in the building

Adam (another patron) took a number of photographs in the same direction of the heat source, after taking some photos his camera shut down, As the group left the stables, his camera started working again and he immediately checked his photos and one of them had the (attached) image. Could this be an image of a ghost?

Gary Sullivan, lead investigator and paranormal researcher from Australian Ghost Adventures said: “At the time the temperature rose to 22 degrees I put it down to one of the bluestone bricks being warm, but was not” and could not explain the temperature change on the digital thermometer.  With the photo” he could not explain what the image was”.

Ron Dorre the Sceptic from AGA was also present.

“I too witnessed the events including Adam taking the photos, I couldn’t believe it when he checked them and it had a slight image of a girl in one of the frames”

We took the photo to Anthony Kilner a Photographer and photo journalist to investigate. The photo data showed no flash was used and to have such a clear photo in low light without a tripod was unusual. The mystery is still not solved. The ghost tours continue and tour guides are encouraging photographers to take as many photos as they can in the Stables.

MEDIA RELEASE - Updates

Thank you Australia.

So far we have had sightings of similar looking Girls in Sydney, Woollongong, Frankston, Cranbourne & Corio. I will keep you updated on this site.

FEEDBACK

"Just cannot buy that as real- not to mention the date of 1953-02-02 clearly printed on the right hand corner of the photo"

Reply is.....The date on the photo is due to the photographer not setting the date on his camera.

The Today Tonight experts said it might be a painting but an email I got said;

If it is a painting and fingers holding it up, it must be a very small painting or giant fingers and where is the rest of the painting on the right in the black and the picture frame, don't think its that. Regards, John Glynn

Another comment:

I admit to being no expert, however, it is well known that you don’t throw away old hard drives, because information is imbedded in the drive….even when formatted.

If the “SD” card has been used, then formatted and re-used, chances are the re is an imbedded image occupying the same “bits” used to store a more recent image.

A ”ghosted”  image for sure, but not an image of a ghost
